Solutions Engineer – Job Description

Salary plus Commissions based on the commission structure outlined annually along with goals.

Chief Operating Officer 

Summary/Objective 

The Solutions Engineer works with customers to understand their business goals, identify & present solutions, and ensure client retention. Solutions Engineers are friendly, well-spoken, and empowered by the opportunity to deepen Barefoot client relationships through highly consultative relationships. Ideal candidates for this role have used Barefoot Technologies’ applications extensively. They also have a breadth of functional experience within the Vacation Rental industry. 

Essential Functions

• Identifies revenue opportunities within the client community through consultation meetings, marketing programs and other activities as needed. 

• Manages new customer onboarding process, ensuring quality delivery, timely execution, and scope control of implementation projects. 

• Application of industry knowledge through strategy-level consultations with customers, with comprehensive documentation of goals, challenges, and timetables. 

• Exposition/Show staffing on an as-needed basis. 

• Works closely with support, project managing, and escalating as appropriate, customer relationship issues. 

• Engages in technical discussions with potential clients through demonstrations and presentations. 

• Remains knowledgeable and up to date on changes and developments in the vacation rental management industry. 

• Keeps sales team and management informed of all activity. This may require report generation. 

Competencies 

• Demo-capable level of understanding Barefoot Agent, related portals, and modules in the system. 

• Deep understanding of Barefoot Partners, their functions and services, and their value proposition. 

• Ability to handle a wide variety of tasks in any given day. 

• Strong communication skills. 

• Strong documentation/organizational skills 

• Team selling. 

• Technical understanding of all software tools needed to track sales and communicate as a remote worker. 

Quarterly & Annual Goal Specifics 

Provided at the beginning of each year/quarter.  

Supervisory Responsibility 

Prioritization of indirect reports as resources involved in supporting customer issues and onboarding projects. 

Work Environment 

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work 

This is a full-time position which operates during normal business hours. Some extended days may be required on an exception basis. 

Travel 

This position requires up to 40% travel. 

Required Education and Experience 

• Bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline or equivalent experience. 

• A minimum of two years in a sales or sales support role. 

Preferred Education and Experience 

• Experience in the vacation rental management and or real estate industry. 

• Experience in customer service, public speaking and/or training roles in technology companies.
